Shatoria Gwynn Candidate, Colorado State University Global Campus ATTN: Graduate Admission Committee Let me first start by saying that I am so excited I have found a university that’s offers such an amazing Information Technology Management program to fulfill my educational needs. I currently have an Associates of Science in Science from Tidewater Community College with a Bachelor’s of Science in Healthcare Management from Saint Leo University. After earning my degrees I have been working in the healthcare field, Marketing /Sales, but Banking Technical Healthcare I desired the most. I took an ITE introduction 610 course for the University of Maryland in 2015 to get a glimpse of information technology. Although this one course†¦show more content†¦In spite what I was told, I gave the Air Force a try. I did not score high enough to get recruited, so then I started college within the same of year of graduating High School. The adjustments I have made to ensure that I would not encounter difficulties in my educational endeavors is by alternating my work and livi ng environment, more flexibility in time, exercise weekly and changed my diet. A balanced lifestyle includes physical fitness and a healthy diet. I believe this allows students to focus mentally throughout their daily task or projects. I now see college as a second full time job with putting in at least twenty one hours a week of studying time at the library. Study sessions will insist on 3 hours Monday through Friday with a minimum of 5 hours on weekends. In addition to the changes that I have made in order to succeed, there are challenges in the aspect of coming into the Information Technology world with a healthcare background. Healthcare has its own language as well as the Information Technology. Even though learning the language of Information Technology will be a challenge I am confident in my strength in persistency. I’ve learned my strength is being persistent in finishing a task or goal. With diligence and persistency I will accomplish my goals. For example, an unexpected emergent situation occurred at work. There was an active shooter present within the building. .

As said in the Arts and Culture: An Introduction to the Humanities textbook, philosophy is the â€Å"love of wisdom.† Philosophy shows us the different forms of nature and how you see the world through logic and reasoning instead of faith and emotion. Philosophy was used to justify questions about the meaning of life, form, and human nature. The first to practice philosophy were the Greeks. â€Å"The Greeks believed that what distinguished human beings was their ability to reason, and thus the philosopher held a special place in their society.† The meaning of life is to explore the world in a person’s own point of view. The whole meaning of life is to achieve what needs to be achieved and to be successful in what needs to be done. Everyone has goals, so life could be a time where we find our dreams and achieve the dreams that you have lead. Life is all about finding your true inner-self and understanding the person inside you. Life is about time. You choose the p ath that you follow that lead you to this life today. Time is very important in life because every minute we depend on it to see the goods and bad that happen in our life. Life is about happiness and how you live it will determine your bright future ahead of you. â€Å"Be like water†¦ † is a widely used but unfortunately usually misinterpreted expression. Many novices at single combat often use it trying to show that they are clued-up. And they can’t be accused of it as the phrase has an impressive sounding and in any case represents also impressive, though partial, understanding of Eastern way of thinking. However, a great martial arts actor and instructor just quoted the Eastern philosophy created much earlier (Wishop 2). The wrong usage of the phrase I became interested in this expression having read the case about one man who said that he wanted to learn martial arts because he wanted to â€Å"be like water†. This phrase seems interesting but its sense is very doubtful and I guess that this man understood it very superficially (Loeb 18). The question is if we can call the wish to â€Å"be like water† a feasible purpose. If to consider the strict sense of a phrase, every person who wants to ‘be like water’ should lay on the ground and try to flow like a stream, because we can’t be ‘like water† when we stand (Loeb 18). The real meaning and the cause of misunderstanding So, what does it really mean to â€Å"be like water†? It must be related to the Taoist philosophy and its idea about five equal elements. They are wood, metal, earth, fire and water. Each of them is very important and strongly connected to others (Greene 5). Possibly, the main issue in that water is usually associated with something soft. We say â€Å"want to be like water† when we want to move easily, without any obstacles. However, we forget that water has other qualities, which appear to be not so attractive. Bruce Lee stated: â€Å"water can flow, or it can crash† (Wishop 14). Unfortunately, people usually pay attention only to the first part of his statement, while it is necessary for everybody who wants to â€Å"be like water† to think about the fact that water can also be destructive (Loeb 20). Many people die and suffer because of floods every year and one usually trembles thinking of huge, destructive sea waves. Conclusion Many phrases are frequently misunderstood and misused because people are inclined to pick new words and utterances very quickly and do not ever try to find out more about their origin. That creates the misuse of the world and finally it can loose its primary meaning. It would be better if we were more scrupulous and curious about new words and phrases we use.
